Friday 17th August 2018 - PLYMOUTH POLICE FORCE - Scott Coombes
***ARRESTED AT LAST***
A huge well done to UKDatabase on capturing Scott Coombes in Paignton after he'd arranged to meet a child following sexual grooming. We're all delighted as Coombes was caught well away from Plymouth where they have an incredibly lenient stance on sex offenders. Scott will be dealt with a far better Police which means he'll hopefully be remanded.
I write this article to you all now feeling completely baffled and gobsmacked!
For all of our followers, especially members of the public questioning our procedures, feeling Police should be called before a sting...you MUST read this!
PREVIOUS HISTORY BELOW!
Name: Scott Coombes
Action: ARRESTED (UKDATABASE STING)
Details: Scott Coombes - Multiple Re-offender is still talking to kids online despite being under a restriction of not being allowed to talk to anyone under 16 online.
Outcome: Sent home with full chat logs of evidence (Big Mistake NO.1 ) against this re-offender who clearly is continuing to pursue young children online and in breach of his SHPO, with the addition of a lovely cease and desist letter, actually handed to me at the location when the police arrived!! Hence why there is no official letterhead stamp or paper fold. Once the police were called to the scene, they clearly had no intention of even looking at our evidence. Instead, quite bizarrely, I am told the following...
'He's not actually causing a sexual offence to a child in person!' This was the second quote of the night leaving me stunned! BIG MISTAKE NO. 2
Whilst they say they do not have time and in their opinion they do not feel that grooming a child online, as it's not in person, is that serious ( I wish I was joking!), it seems they have plenty of time preparing this lovely letter for me before their arrival. I explained the lifetime repercussions of damage to a child, even grooming, which takes a lot of support and counselling to try and heal from, is just as dangerous, but what do I know!! Our own government have now identified the seriousness of emotional abuse yet this particular police force show nothing but ignorance to it.
Here is where I demonstrate to you all that unless a professional sting takes place with an admission from the offender, our Police simply will not deal with it!
Now, if you thought that was bad enough, this is where this article gets VERY interesting! Keep reading...
Our cases are now building up to an alarming rate of offenders. From this, we are starting to see a pattern of how offenders are dealt with case by case. Whilst, I am not here to question the Police, I am seeing some quite alarming evidence mounting against Devon and Cornwall Police, in particular Plymouth's force for how they are dealing with and handling cases.
The actual facts and statistics for Devon and Cornwall are quite frankly embarrassing and needs investigating in my opinion. Not only are cases being dropped, offenders are getting away with their actions, known predators found to still be offending online as we speak are ignored and they're even losing them with 6 predators lost and on the loose. So much for MAPPA!
We are after justice for our children and we are pleading with the Police to listen to our concerns and work with us together so we can ensure as many of our children are as safe as possible online. Don't we all have the same objective here? It's about time our forces check their egos and motivation!
But being sent home with our evidence in hand has to be the worst outcome for our children to date! In all my time and experience so far, never has our evidence not been accepted and even read!! Plymouth Police has a lot to answer for now in my opinion. Withholding, obstructing or refusing evidence brought to the Police's attention is in my opinion perverting the course of Justice which is an illegal offence in England and Wales. Our own police force!
Housing sex offenders near public schools, we all know of Plymouth's House of Horrors , and now refusing to accept evidence handed to them at the scene! If ever it is discovered that Scott Coombes causes any further harm from this date forward, I personally hold Plymouth Police force fully responsible.
Let's back this up shall we with previous cases handled by Plymouth Police...
Short Summary of Cases - Full Profiles can be followed by clicking on their links below...
1) Raymond Blackmore - PLYMOUTH Community Homes intervention with the Police to stop Blackmore being stung. Protecting the nonce from our 2nd sting. Unfortunately we had even more evidence against this man and successfully stung him a 3rd time, which at this point the police HAD to arrest him. What a hard day for the police, having to actually do their job!
Gareth Evans - PLYMOUTH - POLICE refused to arrest him despite there being evidence of potential kidnap; inciting sexual activity with a minor, sexual communication and facilitating a meet with a child following grooming. DC Strike refused to deal with the case.
Geoff Davies - PLYMOUTH - Grooming a 9 Year old decoy - POLICE allowed the predator back in the house, as a result he messaged the decoy saying he couldn't talk to her anymore which meant he could've destroyed or tampered with evidence.
Stuart Baigent - PLYMOUTH - Case has dragged on and on, Stuart himself had heard nothing in 6 months, even he was tired of waiting as he was living in limbo and he just wanted his punishment so that he could move on.
I do appreciate that our forces have very limited resources, hence why we exist to support them as volunteers who only care about justice for our children. Whilst, Plymouth have in my experience handled some of our cases well, example, Mike Bignall, there are many cases here piling up that are demonstrating a lack of care and justice to our children, potentially putting children at further risk with known predators allowed to continue offending without consequences or any investigation to reports and evidence brought to their attention!!
As I sat and reflected on this last night, I did some additional research, stumbling across multiple newspaper articles on frightening statistics emerging from Devon and Cornwall police, one being that they have lost 6 sexual predators and 6% of their force are UNVETTED police officers, 326 in total known. Would any of these be in Plymouth by any chance? But this quote blinded me after last nights events. In response to the terrifying rise in sexual offences against children, with only 1 in 6 cases reaching court in Devon and Cornwall, this was their response...
Whilst these figures highlight the complexity of bringing these matters to court, it's vital that the police understand that all of these reported incidents are taken seriously, are fully investigated and those reporting to the police are supported by specialist officers!! However, what they failed to report to this local paper was 'NOT ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHTS THOUGH!'
